Special Issue Editor: Donald Rebovich, Utica College

We welcome papers that address one or more of these questions drawing on qualitative or quantitative methods. Prior to submitting a paper, please email a 500-word abstract/proposal to Donald Rebovich ( by March 30, 2020.  If your abstract/proposal is selected, we will invite you to submit a paper to this special issue. Due date for final manuscript submission will be June 15, 2020.All submissions will undergo anonymous peer review.

KIC Solicitation for ‘Criminal Justice System and Policy: A Comparative Study of the U.S. and Korea’

Dear KOSCA members,


I am pleased to share information regarding a new solicitation with you.


With this solicitation, the Korean Institute of Criminology (KIS) in collaboration with the Korean Society of Criminology in America (KOSCA) seeks applications for funding for ‘Criminal Justice System and Policy: A Comparative Study of the U.S. and Korea’  in order to address the strategic priorities and objectives to innovate the Criminal Justice System in South Korea. Specifically, the KIS and KOSCA seek applications for funding research on evidence-based protocols and policies for the enforcement of Korean criminal justice systems.


Applicants must register with KOCA membership (Life-time member and/or regular member) prior to submitting an application. Preference will be given to young scholars, junior faculty, and/or a team project.  


All applications are due by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on March 1, 2020. All applications should be submitted to Dr. Hyoungah Park at Washburn University:

한국형사정책연구원에서는 국제비교연구를 통해 한국 형사정책의 발전을 도모하고자 재미한인범죄학회와 공동연구를 하고자 합니다. 재미한인범죄학회를 대표해 아래 주제와 관련한 연구과제를 수행할 연구자를 모집합니다. 학회원님들의 많은 참여 부탁드립니다.


○ 연구 주제: 증거기반 형사정책 강화를 위한 한·미 비교 연구

○ 연구 분야

          - 소년범죄에 대한 종단 연구

          - 사이버/온라인 범죄에 대한 대응

          - 효과적인 범죄자 교정 및 처우

          - 범죄피해에 대한 대응

          - 범죄수사 관련 연구

○ 연 구 비: $ 20,000*

       * 재미한인범죄학회 overhead fee는 연구비의 20% 입니다.

○ 연구기간: 연구계획서 채택 시점 ~ 2020년 10월 30일
