• Division of Women and Gender

Division of Women and Gender serves to bring together ALL members who are interested in addressing the concerns and issues of gender equality and women’s empowerment in the study of crime, justice, and the crime-processing system. The primary goals of this section are to facilitate and promote research and exchange of information concerning women and gender issues in the field and to develop effective pedagogical strategies and curricular for women, gender, and crime courses. The Women and Crime Section also encourages networking and interaction among members by providing a variety of opportunities for professional and social interaction including: panels and presentation on gender, crime and justice; and mentoring for female faculty and student members in the discipline.

 

• Division Report for 2018~2019

Division of Women and Gender (DWG)은 회원들을 중심으로 네트워크를 형성하여, 필요한 정보와 자료들을 공유함과 동시에 친목을 도모하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 구체적으로, DWG은 매년 ASC에서 Roundtable을 통해, 다양한 주제들을 논하는 자리를 갖습니다. 2018년 ASC에서 “Mentoring and Kore-an Women in Academia: What’s Their Story?” 라는 주제로 Roundtable Session 을 가졌습니다. 조수정 교수, 송주영 교수, 김춘례 교수, 박인선 박사 과정, 이세례 교수, 박현나 박사 과정, 박형아 교수, 그리고 김빛나 교수가 (1) teaching & research, (2) job search & tenure/promotion, (3) mentoring, 그리고 (4) networking & collaboration의 4가지 주제에 관해 발표하였다. 2019년 ASC에서 두번째 Roundtable을 가질 예정입니다. 현재, DWG는 회원들은 단체 대화방을 통해 상호간의 소식을 전하고 있고, Dropbox에 tenure/promotion, teaching, 그리고 research/grant 관련 자료를 함께 공유하고 있습니다. 마지막으로, DWG는 매 학기 Online Workshop을 개최하여, 회원들이 서로의 전문 분야에 대해 배울 수 있는 기회를 갖습니다. 2019년 3월 23일 송주영 교수의 빅데이터에 대한 Workshop을 가질 예정입니다. 김빛나 교수 (Indiana University of Pennsylvania), bitna.kim@iup.edu
